In a decisive action against drug trafficking, the Nurpur Police under Police Station Damtal raided a house in Chhani village (Indora tehsil, Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh) and recovered 11 grams of heroin (chitta).
Acting on a secret tip-off, the police team searched the residence of Pinky (36), wife of Dalip Kumar, and her son-in-law Akashdeep (26), son of Sarfu Singh, resident of Mehtabpur, Mukerian tehsil, Hoshiarpur district, Punjab. During the search, a black packet containing powder was found inside a blue plastic stand tray near a wooden cupboard. Testing with a drug detection kit confirmed it to be heroin.
The seized narcotics were weighed on an electronic scale, totaling 11 grams, and sealed on the spot. Police registered FIR No. 121/2026 under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Damtal.
Authorities stated that further investigation is underway to trace the source of the heroin and identify its intended supply chain. Additional suspects involved in this illegal trade will also face strict legal action.
