The Kisan Seva Fruit Producers’ Organization, Bharmaur, has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh through the Additional District Magistrate, expressing deep concern over the rising number of road accidents in Chamba district.

The committee highlighted the deteriorating condition of the Chamba–Bharmaur National Highway (NH-154A), stressing that with the sacred Shri Manimahesh Yatra set to begin soon, ensuring the safety of thousands of pilgrims traveling by road must be the administration’s top priority.

According to the memorandum, repair and restoration work on the highway—damaged during last year’s natural disaster—is currently underway but progressing at a slow pace. The organization demanded that officials and the executing agency be directed to complete the road improvement work on a war footing before the pilgrimage commences, so as to prevent accidents and loss of life.

The committee’s secretary appealed to the administration to take urgent steps for the safety of devotees, while organization president Suresh Kumar Thakur was also present during the submission of the memorandum.
