Himalyan School Resonates with the Energy of Yoga on International Yoga Day

Himalyan Public Senior Secondary School celebrated International Yoga Day with a grand and inspiring programme that filled the campus with the spirit of health, discipline, and positivity.

The event began with the morning assembly, where students from Classes VI to XII, along with teachers, participated enthusiastically. The school premises were decorated with vibrant posters, slogans, and messages related to yoga, creating an atmosphere charged with energy and awareness.

The highlight of the programme was a collective yoga session conducted under the guidance of trained yoga instructors. Students practiced Surya Namaskar, Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana, Vajrasana, Padmasana, and other important postures. Breathing exercises such as Anulom-Vilom, Kapalbhati, Bhramari, and meditation sessions were also included. Even the youngest students from Classes I to V demonstrated discipline and commitment in their yoga practice, reflecting their dedication to a healthy lifestyle.

In his address, School Director Anurag Gupta emphasized that yoga is India’s priceless heritage, offering the world a path to healthy living. He urged students to spend less time on mobile screens and dedicate at least 30 minutes daily to yoga and meditation. He highlighted that yoga not only strengthens the body but also instills discipline, patience, and self-confidence.

The programme concluded with a collective pledge by students and teachers to practice yoga regularly and spread awareness about its benefits within their families and communities. The celebration proved to be inspirational, educational, and unforgettable, delivering a powerful message of living a balanced and healthy life.
