As part of the Statewide Mega Mock Exercise–2026, a disaster awareness and evacuation mock drill was successfully organized today at Government Arya College, Nurpur. The exercise focused on preparedness for earthquakes, cloudbursts, and forest fires, under the guidance and chairmanship of Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur.
Role of NCC Cadets: NCC cadets played a pivotal role in conducting the drill. They demonstrated effective emergency response, safe evacuation procedures, and rescue operations. Students and staff were guided through designated safe routes and trained in precautionary measures to be adopted during disasters.
Principal’s Address: Dr. Thakur emphasized that such drills instill disaster management awareness among students and staff, strengthening their ability to respond swiftly and effectively in emergencies. He congratulated the NCC cadets, faculty, and organizing committee for the successful execution of the program.
Objective: The primary aim of the drill was to provide practical training in safe evacuation during disasters and to enhance awareness about disaster risk reduction. The event concluded with all participants pledging commitment to disaster safety and vigilance.
