An administrative meeting of the AYUSH Department was successfully conducted in Bharmaur on Thursday under the chairmanship of Dr. Indu Sharma, Deputy Director, AYUSH Kangra Zone. The meeting was attended by Chamba District AYUSH Officer Dr. Anita Sharma and Dr. Rajesh Kumar.
During the visit, the officials inspected the 10‑bed Ayurvedic Hospital and the Sub‑Divisional Office. Doctors were instructed to actively provide Ayurvedic treatments and perform minor surgical procedures.
Focus on International Yoga Day 2026 In line with this year’s theme, discussions were held on organizing yoga programmes across the subdivision. Dr. Sharma issued key directives to medical officers, including:
- Community Participation & Awareness: Engage local communities, Panchayati Raj institutions, schools, and youth groups to make the event a true public movement.
- Venue Preparation: Identify and finalize suitable, accessible locations for mass yoga demonstrations.
- Deployment of Trainers: Ensure certified yoga instructors and trained AYUSH Medical Officers are assigned to lead sessions at all designated venues.
- Coordination: Work closely with local administration, police, and education departments for smooth execution and crowd management.
Addressing the officers, the Deputy Director emphasized the importance of promoting the preventive and health‑enhancing aspects of Ayurveda and Yoga, highlighting the crucial role of medical officers in spreading awareness and ensuring effective implementation.
