Nurpur Police Seize Eight Vehicles in Crackdown on Illegal Mining

Police District Nurpur has intensified its special campaign against illegal mining, carrying out effective operations over the past three days. As part of this drive, a total of eight vehicles were seized and challaned for violating mining regulations.

Details of the action:

  • Nurpur Police Station: During naka checking, three multi-axle trucks were seized for flouting rules.
  • Damtal Police Station: Police teams conducted raids and seized two JCB machines and two multi-axle trucks found engaged in illegal mining. Additionally, one tractor was challaned on the spot for violating norms.

All seized vehicles have been sent to court for further legal proceedings under relevant sections of the Mining Act.

Police officials reiterated their commitment to continue strict action against illegal mining and appealed to the public to immediately report any such unlawful activities. Authorities assured that similar operations will remain ongoing to curb violations and protect natural resources.
