Reinforcing his stature in the legal fraternity, Mandi-based senior advocate Narender Guleria has been re-elected as a member of the Himachal Pradesh Bar Council, marking his second successful term in the apex statutory body governing the legal profession in the state.

Guleria’s victory, achieved in a closely contested election, is being widely viewed as a reflection of his professional credibility, administrative experience, and sustained engagement with the concerns of the legal community. Notably, he secured the fifth position among 47 candidates, underlining his strong support base across the state. A total of 18 members—14 men and 4 women—have been elected to the council.

He had earlier served as a member of the Bar Council in 2011 and went on to become one of the youngest Vice Chairmen, a distinction that added to his growing reputation in legal and institutional circles.

Expressing gratitude to the fraternity, Guleria thanked fellow advocates for reposing faith in his leadership. He reiterated his commitment to advancing the interests of lawyers, strengthening institutional mechanisms, and contributing to the effective administration of justice in Himachal Pradesh.

An alumnus of Himachal Pradesh University, where he pursued his law degree between 1998 and 2001, Guleria began his legal practice at the District and Sessions Court, Mandi, and remained actively engaged there from 2001 to 2017. He later served as Additional Advocate General for the Himachal Pradesh government from 2017 to 2022, handling significant legal responsibilities and representing the state in key matters.

Currently, he practices at the Himachal Pradesh High Court and is the Director of “Guleria Associates and Partners,” a law firm he leads. He carries forward a legacy of legal service inspired by his late father, Karam Singh Guleria, a respected name in the Mandi legal fraternity.

Beyond the courtroom, Guleria has also played an active role in socio-organisational spheres. He has served as District President of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and has been associated with the national executive of the BJP’s legal cell.

His re-election is being seen as a significant moment for the legal community in Himachal Pradesh, particularly for young practitioners who view his journey as a benchmark of professional excellence, institutional contribution, and public service.
