Under the Ayush Gram Program, a herbal garden was established today in Village Sirdi, Bharmour subdivision, with the plantation of 1,000 medicinal plants of Sugandhbala. The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from 42 local farmers, who pledged their commitment to the conservation and promotion of medicinal plants.
On this occasion, Sub-Divisional Ayush Officer Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaudhary showcased a special exhibition highlighting the medicinal properties of locally available herbs such as Dhoop, Kutki, Sugandhbala, Gucchi, Kala Jeera, Salampanja, Chork, Ativisha, Bankakdi, and Daruharidra. He emphasized that the preservation of these plants not only benefits public health but also holds potential to enhance farmers’ income.
Agriculture Department Subject Matter Specialist Dr. Jitendra encouraged farmers to adopt natural and organic farming practices. He also shared techniques for preparing vermicompost to improve soil fertility.
Forest Department Range Officer Mr. Nazir Singh addressed the gathering, urging villagers to plant more trees and refrain from setting forest fires, stressing the importance of ecological balance.
The program concluded with farmers and villagers taking a collective pledge to promote organic farming and safeguard medicinal plants for future generations.
