Teachers across Himachal Pradesh staged protests today under the call of the Joint Action Committee (JAC), demanding the restoration of long-pending promotions under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS). Demonstrations were held at Himachal Pradesh University (Shimla), Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University (Palampur), and Sardar Patel University (Mandi).
At HP University, Shimla, teachers urged the government to immediately reinstate CAS promotions, calling the delay an injustice. Speakers including Dr. Ashok Bansal, Dr. Shashikant, Dr. Sanjay, and Dr. Surender warned that if the issue is not resolved soon, the agitation will intensify across the state.
Meanwhile, at Agricultural University, Palampur, teachers rallied under the leadership of Dr. Praveen Sharma (President, Teachers’ Association), joined by Dr. Dinesh Karofa and Prof. Janardan Singh (JAC President), who strongly pressed for immediate restoration of CAS promotions.
Similarly, at Sardar Patel University, Mandi, teachers led by Dr. Sunil staged a protest demanding reinstatement of promotions.
The Joint Action Committee has made it clear that if the government fails to act promptly, the movement will escalate into a statewide agitation. Teachers warned that further delay in CAS restoration would trigger widespread protests across Himachal Pradesh.
