Palampur, March 2026 – The Tulip Garden developed by the CSIR–Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT), Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, has officially closed to the public after the end of this year’s blooming season.

Opened on 10 February 2026, the garden quickly became a major attraction, drawing more than 1.25 lakh visitors in just about a month. Adorned with nearly 55,000 tulip bulbs across six varieties, the vibrant display offered a spectacular sight and added to the region’s tourism appeal.

Officials noted that the garden’s successful run highlights both the scientific efforts of IHBT in cultivating tulips in the Himalayan region and the growing interest of tourists in seasonal floral attractions.

With its closure, preparations will now begin for the next cycle of blooming, expected to bring even more visitors in the coming years.
