In the serene hill town of Palampur, while most residents are still asleep, the classrooms of Himvidyarthi Foundation come alive at 5 a.m. with determined young aspirants preparing for one of India’s most competitive entrance tests — the Sainik School Examination.
This year, their discipline has paid off in spectacular fashion. Out of 89 students trained at the institute, 78 cleared the exam, marking one of the strongest performances in the region and extending the institute’s five-year streak of exceptional results.
Collaborative Success
A significant portion of this achievement comes from a joint initiative between Himvidyarthi Foundation and the Municipal Corporation of Palampur. Under this program, 47 out of 57 students succeeded, underscoring the impact of structured guidance and equal opportunity.
State-Level Achievements
The institute’s students also shone at the state level:
- One student secured Rank 1 in the ST Girls category across Himachal Pradesh.
- Another achieved Rank 3 in the SC Girls category, bringing recognition to both the institute and the region.
The Formula Behind Success
Managing Director Abhay Jeet Singh Akela attributes the success to a preparation model built on discipline, consistency, and mentorship.
“Our preparation begins early. Students start their day at 5 a.m., solve over 5,000 practice questions, and take more than 15 full-length mock tests replicating the real exam environment,” he explained.
Faculty members remain engaged beyond school hours, offering mentoring sessions and personalized guidance. The institute also emphasizes holistic development, encouraging students to participate in sports like cricket to build resilience, confidence, and team spirit.
