The Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar programme, a government initiative aimed at providing an effective platform for resolving public grievances, was organised today at Gram Panchayat Maihla under the chairmanship of Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania.

Residents from Gram Panchayats Maihla, Chadi, Phagri, Bandla, Dadhvi, and Vakan participated, presenting their issues and demands. The event witnessed the presence of MLA Neeraj Nayyar, Dr. Jankraj, and several senior officials.

Around 400 people attended the programme, registering complaints and demands, while also benefiting from departmental exhibitions and services. Speaker Pathania interacted directly with the public, resolving many issues on the spot. He emphasized that the programme not only ensures quick redressal of grievances at the local level but also helps the government understand the region’s needs.

He highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state government has ensured transparent and effective arrangements, making this initiative distinct from programmes of previous governments.

During the event, Speaker Pathania directed officials to expand road connectivity in Bharmour constituency and assured that the demand to include non-tribal areas under tribal category would be forwarded to the Central Government through the Vidhan Sabha Petition Committee.

The programme also delivered tangible benefits:

  • Revenue Department registered 25 land mutations.
  • Health Department conducted health check-ups of 89 individuals, distributed free medicines, and tested 17 people for Hepatitis and HIV. Four persons were registered for disability certificates.
  • Aadhaar updates were carried out for 8 people.
  • Relief cheques worth ₹6.20 lakh were distributed to six disaster-affected families.
  • House keys were handed over to six beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural).
  • Insurance documents were provided to 10 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.

Additionally, prizes were awarded to winners of speech and slogan-writing competitions organized under the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign and senior citizen–youth dialogue programme.
