A daughter from the remote tribal Pangi Valley of Chamba district has brought pride not only to her parents but to the entire region. Dr. Kavita Sharma, hailing from the small and inaccessible village of Shun, has achieved a remarkable milestone by beginning her service at the country’s most prestigious medical institution—All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

Dr. Kavita Sharma always dreamed of serving society through the nation’s top medical institution, and today that dream has become a reality. She completed her MBBS from Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda (Kangra), and later served at Chamba Medical College before her selection at AIIMS Delhi.

She credits her success to the unwavering support of her parents and the guidance of her teachers, stating that without their encouragement and blessings, this achievement would not have been possible.

Academically, Dr. Kavita Sharma has been a brilliant student since childhood. She scored an impressive 96 percent in her Class 10 examinations from Maharishi Dayanand Math, Chamba. She then secured 94 percent marks in Classes 11 and 12, studying both medical and non-medical subjects at the Government Girls Senior Secondary School. Recognizing her talent, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh awarded her laptops and scholarships on two occasions.

After clearing NEET and several other competitive examinations, she pursued MBBS as her career path. Her father, Magha Ram, is a TGT teacher, while her mother is a homemaker. The family shares a strong educational background; her brother is currently pursuing studies to become a scientist at India’s premier research institute, NISER Bhubaneswar.

Dr. Kavita Sharma has also received several prestigious honors for her contributions, including the “Shaane-e-Bharat National Award 2023” by Himachal Ekta Manch and the “National Excellence Award 2025” by Betiyan Foundation.

Beyond academics, she is a multi-talented personality. She has been a Josh Talks speaker, is skilled in harmonium playing, and runs a YouTube channel titled “Dr. Kavita Sharma”, where she motivates children and women through educational and inspirational content. She has also been invited as a speaker to colleges in Hamirpur, Chamba, and Pangi.

At just 24 years of age, Dr. Kavita Sharma has emerged as a powerful source of inspiration for society. Her journey from the remote Pangi Valley to AIIMS Delhi sends a strong message to every daughter—that with determination and hard work, no destination is beyond reach.
