As part of the ongoing campaign against narcotics, Nurpur district police conducted a surprise inspection near HDFC Bank in Ward No. 2. During the patrol, two individuals were apprehended:
- Munish Kumar, son of Late Somraj, resident of Ward No. 2, near HDFC Bank, Nurpur
- Joginder Singh, son of Dharmu Ram, resident of Languta village, Bharmour tehsil, Chamba district
From their possession, police recovered 315 capsules of Preglavine (Preglavin).
The operation was carried out jointly by the district police and the Drug Inspector. Preliminary investigation revealed that the storage and sale of the seized medicines were not in compliance with the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
Given the seriousness of the matter, the Drug Inspector has initiated a detailed inquiry, and further action is being taken as per law.
Authorities have appealed to the public not to engage in the purchase or sale of medicines without a valid license and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or concerned department.
The district administration and police emphasized that such actions against narcotics and illegal drug trade will continue in the future in the interest of public welfare.
