Paras Public School, Bhawarna, came alive with festive cheer as the traditional festival of Lohri was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The school courtyard resonated with joy as a ceremonial bonfire was lit by School Director Mr. Mahesh Chandra Katoch, Principal Mrs. Neelam Rana, and the entire teaching staff, who offered prayers to Agni Dev and wished for prosperity in the coming year.
Students from Nursery to Class XII showcased their cultural spirit by singing Lohri songs and performing lively dances, keeping the folk traditions vibrant. Teacher Renu Sharma, in her address, narrated the story of Dulla Bhatti, highlighting the historical and cultural significance of Lohri.
The festival, symbolizing the end of winter, was celebrated as a message of unity and the triumph of good over evil. Children were delighted as traditional sweets like peanuts, rewari, and gajak were distributed among them.
In her concluding remarks, Principal Mrs. Neelam Rana extended Lohri greetings to all, emphasizing that festivals are an integral part of our cultural heritage and should be celebrated together with harmony and joy.
The celebration filled the school atmosphere with warmth and happiness, as students and staff exchanged festive wishes.
