Nurpur Police Intensify Crackdown on Illegal Mining; 6 Tractors Seized

The Nurpur Police have continued their sustained campaign against the illegal mining mafia, seizing six tractors under the Mining Act during operations carried out on the night of January 10, 2026, and the day of January 11, 2026.

The action was taken across multiple police jurisdictions, including Police Post Sadwan, Police Post Kandwal (Nurpur Police Station), Police Post Kotla, and Jawali Police Station.

Legal Action Initiated

The seized tractors have been challaned under the Mining Act, and cases against the accused are being forwarded to the Hon’ble Court for further proceedings.

Ongoing Campaign

Authorities emphasized that the anti-mining drive will continue in the future, with strict measures to curb illegal extraction activities in the district.

The police have also urged the public to cooperate by reporting suspicious activities, reinforcing their commitment to making Nurpur free from illegal mining operations.
