The political atmosphere in Himachal Pradesh has heated up following the remarks made by State Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state spokesperson Sanjay Sharma has condemned Negi’s statement and launched a sharp attack on him.
BJP Spokesperson Questions Negi’s Mindset
BJP spokesperson Sanjay Sharma termed Jagat Singh Negi’s comments on the RSS as shameful and unacceptable, stating that they reflect a distorted and degraded mindset. He said that a person who has not even properly understood the ideology of his own party, the Congress, cannot possibly understand a nationwide organisation like the RSS which is dedicated to nation-building.
Reference to Mahatma Gandhi’s Appreciation of RSS
Highlighting the importance of the RSS and its contributions to society, Sharma mentioned that Mahatma Gandhi never raised a finger against the RSS. Instead, Gandhi appreciated the organisation’s service towards the nation. Sharma added that Gandhi also openly praised the RSS for its spirit of nationalism and patriotism, which clearly shows that the organisation has been engaged in constructive work for the country.
Questions Raised on Negi’s Personal Conduct
Sanjay Sharma further alleged that Negi lacks values himself and has failed to instill values even within his own family, which is why issues related to his family frequently become topics of public discussion. He stated that Negi neither respects the RSS nor honours the nation’s women (Matrishakti), which reflects his character.
