BJP state secretary Sumeet Sharma launched a sharp attack on Himachal’s Disaster Management and Revenue Minister jagat singh negi accusing him of misleading the Assembly with ignorant speeches on the Constitution and history. Sharma said the minister’s remarks not only violated the dignity of the House but also lowered the honour of Himachal Pradesh.

Sharma claimed that Congress governments misused Article 356 90 times, including 51 times under Indira Gandhi, undermining democratic values. He added that Congress-led governments have carried out 80 of the 106 constitutional amendments for political gain.

Condemning the minister’s remarks about RSS leader Guru Golwalkar, Sharma said Golwalkar was a patriot whose volunteers served the nation during the 1962 war. He alleged Congress leaders have collaborated with foreign deep-state forces to target PM Modi and nationalist organisations.

Sharma further accused Congress of politicising the Election Commission, practising appeasement and misleading voters. He cited past instances where Congress MPs were later appointed as judges and governors, questioning the party’s credibility on constitutional values.

On the minister’s comments regarding Tiranga Yatras, Sharma clarified that the tradition dates back to 1952 and was led by leaders like Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi and later Anurag Thakur.

Congress is spreading false propaganda

Calling the minister “ignorant,” Sharma said Congress is spreading false propaganda about BJP’s history and nationalism. He alleged that corruption in Himachal is being hidden under the “disaster cover,” and announced a BJP protest against the Sukhu government in Dharamshala on December 4.
