Jawali (Kangra): Spring Dale Convent Senior Secondary School, Jawali, hosted an essay writing competition organised under the prestigious Tata Building India initiative. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 110 students across various grades, promoting creativity, critical thinking and expression among young learners.
Following the evaluation of entries, several students were honoured with trophies and certificates of appreciation for their exceptional essays.
Radhiya Bhatia, a student of Class VIII, and Vanshika Walia of Class IX were declared “Winner-Up” for their outstanding essays that impressed the judges with clarity of thought and originality. Their work was commended as both impactful and insightful.
The “First Runner-Up” position was awarded to Arnav Mankotia, also from Class VIII, and Shreya, a student of Class X. Both students received appreciation for their articulate expression and strong presentation of ideas, setting a high standard for their peers.
Vedika from Class VIII and Abhay Singh Rana from Class IX were honoured as “Second Runner-Up”. Their essays were recognised for thoughtful composition and a commendable effort in tackling the competition’s theme with maturity and creativity.
Each of the winners received trophies and certificates of appreciation, presented in a special school ceremony that celebrated their achievements and inspired others to follow their lead.
Teachers recognised for their support
The organisers also acknowledged the pivotal role of the school’s faculty. As a token of appreciation, Tata Building India presented gifts to Principal Dr Rajeev Singh Niryal, HOD Anjana Katoch and teacher Ruchika, recognising their guidance and encouragement that helped the students excel in the competition.
Addressing the students during the felicitation ceremony, Principal Dr Rajeev Singh Niryal congratulated the winners and highlighted the importance of participating in co-curricular activities alongside academics. “Competitions like these not only build confidence but also nurture communication skills and independent thinking, which are essential in today’s world,” he said.
School Chairman Dr Rajendra, Managing Director Pawan Chaudhary and other committee members also conveyed their congratulations to the winning students. They urged all students to actively take part in future competitions and explore opportunities that contribute to their all-round development.
