Dharamshala: The Department of Public Administration at Government College Dharamshala hosted a Mock Parliament to commemorate International Democracy Day. Principal Prof. Rakesh Pathania graced the event as chief guest, while Prof. Seema from Government College Nagrota Bagwan was a special invitee.
The program began with a welcome address by Dr. Ajay Kumar. Student Riya presented an insightful overview of the history and significance of International Democracy Day.

During the Mock Parliament, students enacted the roles of ruling and opposition parties, engaging in spirited debates on key issues such as disaster management, women empowerment, education, and the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Ministers from the ruling side responded effectively to opposition queries, showcasing sharp analytical skills.
Adding a cultural touch, students from Lahaul-Spiti performed a traditional dance that received enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Prof. Pathania emphasized that such activities inspire youth to actively contribute to nation-building. Parinika was awarded Best Speaker, while Tamanna, Manya, and Sanvi were recognized as Outstanding Speakers. The event was anchored by Nivriti.
