New Delhi— In a decisive push for youth empowerment, Shrey Awasthi, State Coordinator of the Himachal Unemployed Youth Federation, met Union Minister of State for MSME, Employment & Labour, Smt. Shobha Karandlaje in New Delhi today, demanding a dedicated employment policy for Himachali youth.
Awasthi voiced concern over the rising unemployment rate in Himachal Pradesh, stressing that talented youth are increasingly forced to migrate to metros like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru in search of opportunities. “Himachal’s young generation is full of talent and potential, but due to lack of opportunities they are compelled to leave their land. The Centre must ensure a special policy that provides equal opportunities within the state itself,” he stated.
In a symbolic gesture, Awasthi presented his book “Himachal’s Youth Beyond Govt Jobs” and a traditional Himachali cap to the Union Minister — representing the aspirations, culture, and resilience of the state’s youth.
The meeting is being hailed as a milestone in the movement for youth-centric policy reform, with hopes that the Centre will take concrete steps to harness Himachal’s energetic workforce while enabling them to thrive within their homeland.
