Vikramaditya Singh, Himachal Pradesh Cabinet Minister and son of longest-serving former Chief Minister late Virbhadra Singh, has officially confirmed the news of his second marriage after his wedding card recently went viral on social media.
The 35-year-old PWD Minister will tie the knot with Amreen Kaur, an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Panjab University, Chandigarh, on September 22 in Chandigarh.
Breaking his silence after the wedding card circulated widely online, Vikramaditya Singh shared an AI-generated picture with his fiancée on social media, thanking people for their love and blessings.
“Heartfelt gratitude to the people of Himachal Pradesh for their affection, blessings and good wishes… The 75 lakh people of the state are our family,” he wrote, adding hashtags #22September and ‘Jai Shri Ram’, thereby confirming the wedding date. But what caught the attention of one and all in the AI photo was a black dog standing beside Vikramaditya and his would-be bride Amreen Kaur.
Within just two hours, his post had garnered 13.5K likes, 3.5K comments and 161 shares, highlighting his immense popularity among the public. Political observers note that not only do citizens closely follow his every move, but the media too gives prominent coverage to his statements.
Who is Amreen Kaur?
Amreen Kaur resides in Sector-2, Chandigarh. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Panjab University and has pursued higher studies at the prestigious Harvard University. This will be her first marriage.
Vikramaditya Singh is currently serving as the PWD Minister in the Himachal Pradesh government and represents Shimla (Rural) constituency as a Congress MLA. He is the son of six-time Chief Minister late Virbhadra Singh and Pratibha Singh, the current state Congress chief and a former Lok Sabha MP.
This will be his second marriage. In March 2019, he married Sudarshana Singh, a member of the erstwhile royal family of Rajasthan, but the couple separated in 2020.
