A wave of joy swept through the Dalhousie Assembly constituency in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday as news broke that local MLA D.S. Thakur has been appointed the state spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Party workers across the constituency celebrated the announcement, expressing confidence that Thakur, known for his humble and approachable nature, will perform his new responsibilities with dedication and further strengthen the BJP in Himachal Pradesh.
The workers highlighted Thakur’s long-standing association with the party, recalling that before being elected as Dalhousie MLA in 2022, he had served three terms as the president of the BJP’s Chamba district unit. They said this organisational experience makes him well-suited to represent the party’s views effectively at the state level.
Extending their gratitude to the BJP’s central and state leadership for recognizing their leader’s contribution, party workers said Thakur’s appointment has boosted the morale of grassroots workers in Dalhousie.
