Jawali: – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) appointed Dr. Rajeev Singh Niryala, Principal of Spring Dale Convent Senior Secondary School, Jawali, as the Resource Person for a workshop on “Student Health and Wellness” held at Tripta Public School, Chalwara.
Organized under CBSE guidelines, the workshop brought together educators from multiple institutions, including *DAV Nagrota Surian, **DAV Tiara, **Himalayan Public School, and *Shivalika Public School, along with faculty from the host school. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
In his address, Dr. Niryala emphasized that a child’s mind and body are inseparable, noting that mental ill-health can directly impact physical well-being. He explained that mental health is a critical component of overall wellness, encompassing emotional, psychological, and social factors that influence how a person thinks, feels, and behaves in daily life.
“Good mental health enables students to cope with stress, build relationships, and make sound decisions,” said Dr. Niryala. “Conversely, poor mental health can create challenges that affect both personal and academic success.”
He stressed the importance of awareness, understanding, and supportive environments for students, pointing out that early intervention and open conversations about mental health can significantly improve outcomes. To make the session engaging, Dr. Niryala used interactive activities to illustrate key concepts, encouraging active participation from teachers.
Teachers attending the workshop appreciated the practical strategies and insights shared, noting that the session would help them better address the mental health needs of their students.
