Jaswan-Pragpur: Former Industries Minister and BJP MLA Bikram Thakur has launched a scathing attack on local Congress leaders, accusing them of falsely taking credit for development initiatives that were sanctioned during the previous BJP government’s tenure.

Calls for Transparency in Scheme Approvals
Thakur challenged Congress leaders to publicly present proof of any new road or drinking water projects approved by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. He alleged that the public was being misled by claims that state-level Congress initiatives were responsible for current infrastructure work.

Highlighting Central Government Projects
Emphasizing the role of central schemes such as Jal Jeevan Mission, Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Thakur stated that most active developments in the region stem from national efforts, not state interventions. He cited a ₹21 crore drinking water project in Jaswan as a key example from his tenure.

Threat Over Bank Relocation Plans
In response to reports of the Kangra Central Cooperative Bank being moved to a private facility in Dada Siba, Thakur issued a stern warning. If the relocation proceeds under political influence, he vowed to mobilize public protests.

Removal of Key Administrative Offices
The BJP leader also expressed dismay over the closure of two SDM offices and one BDO office in his constituency. According to Thakur, these removals contradict the praise Congress leaders are offering the Chief Minister, while no fresh development work has been initiated in over two years.
