Bharmaur : Kartik Chadhak, a young athlete hailing from the remote village of Phanar in Bharmaur, Chamba district, has won a gold medal at the recently concluded state-level Kurash Championship. The event was organized by the Himachal Pradesh Kurash Association from July 15 to 17 at Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni (Solan).

Kartik’s remarkable achievement not only brought pride to his village and district but also honored his parents and mentors. He credited his success to the guidance of his coaches and the unwavering support of his family. With this victory, Kartik has qualified to represent Himachal Pradesh at the upcoming national-level Kurash Championship.
The Chamba team delivered an impressive overall performance, securing a total of 21 medals – including 10 golds, 5 silvers, and 6 bronzes. Led by national coach Ashish Kumar and state-level coaches Amit Kumar and Rajesh Kumar, the team also included coaches Ajay Kumar and Reenu Jaryal.

Officials from the state Kurash association, including Kaushal Mugta, Surender Kulla, Viren Dhaulata, and Hardev Singh, extended their congratulations to Kartik and the entire Chamba contingent for their stellar performance.
