Dharamshala: The shifting landscape of Himachal Pradesh’s political arena has marked a change in faces within both BJP and Congress in recent years. The Vyavastha Priavartan Rally, hosted by the Congress government on Monday, drew attention to party leaders delivering speeches to a throng of enthusiastic workers gathered at the police ground.
However, conspicuously absent from the discourse was any mention of the six-time Chief Minister of Himachal, Virbhadra Singh. The lone voice to remember this veteran leader was Kuldeep Singh Pathania, sitting speaker of state assembly. Notably, the other towering figure of the party, GS Bali, also went unmentioned during the speeches.
Putting aside political rivalries, both Virbhadra Singh and GS Bali have made significant contributions to the state’s development. Singh is celebrated for granting Dharamshala the status of a second capital, while Bali has left his mark by establishing a medical college and various projects in his adjacent constituency, Nagrota Bagwan.
In January of this year, Pratibha Singh had brought attention to Singh’s absence during the maiden tour of the newly elected Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.
Kuldeep Pathania delivered his speech just before the party’s state president, Pratibha Singh. In her role, Singh addressed party workers, upcoming elections, and female welfare.
