Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet is scheduled to meet at 12 noon on Saturday (June 28, 2025) at the Secretariat in Shimla under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Several crucial policy matters are expected to be taken up during the meeting.

Key issues likely to be discussed include:
• Energy policy overhaul: The Cabinet may take a decision on the state’s energy policy. Projects allocated to companies that have failed to initiate construction may be cancelled. Provisions to support small power producers could also be introduced.
• Land revenue rules: Following the formulation of the Land Revenue Act, the Revenue Department is likely to seek Cabinet approval for the draft rules.
• Financial resource mobilisation: The Finance Department may present recommendations from the Resource Mobilisation Committee. The state government has yet to make a final decision on these suggestions.
• Monsoon-related damage: With heavy rains causing widespread damage across the state, the Cabinet may deliberate on strategies for relief and mitigation during the ongoing monsoon season.
• Employment for youth: The government had promised to provide 25,000 jobs in the current financial year, as announced during the 2025-26 budget presentation on March 17.

The Cabinet meeting could result in decisions to fill vacant posts across departments and create new job opportunities.

The meeting is also expected to address departmental matters and other administrative decisions. All eyes are on whether the Cabinet will approve major employment initiatives, especially for the state’s youth.
