Girls dominate merit list once again
The HPBOSE Class 10 results 2025 were declared on Thursday (May 15, 2025). This year, the overall pass percentage has risen by about 5% to 79.08%, showing a marked improvement over last year’s 74.61%.
Girls have once again outperformed boys in the HPBOSE Class 10 results. Of the 117 students featured in the Top 10 merit list, 88 are girls and 29 are boys, reflecting the consistent academic excellence demonstrated by female students in recent years.

According to Dr (Major) Vishal Sharma, Secretary of HPBOSE, around 95,000 students appeared for the exams conducted in March 2025 across 2,300 examination centres. The exams began on March 4, excluding the remote regions of Lahaul-Spiti and Pangi.

The results this year were released eight days late compared to last year. This year marked a shift in examination and evaluation methods. For the first time, HPBOSE implemented OMR (optical mark recognition) sheets in board exams.

Additionally, stepwise marking was introduced to make the evaluation process more transparent and fair, ensuring students are rewarded for partial knowledge and correct steps even if the final answer is incorrect.

In line with the digital push, HPBOSE will make students’ certificates available on DigiLocker, a government platform for secure digital document storage. Students can access and download their Class 10 result certificates from the platform without visiting any physical office. The complete schedule has been made available on the official HPBOSE website.
