Himachal news: BJP takes to streets in Chamba demanding deportation of Pakistani nationals


Chamba:
The BJP held a protest rally in Chamba on Monday (May 5, 2025), demanding the immediate deportation of Pakistani nationals reportedly residing in Himachal Pradesh.
Led by Kangra MP Rajeev Bhardwaj, the rally saw senior BJP leaders accusing the state government of violating central laws by allowing foreign nationals to stay illegally in the hill state.

The protest march, which began from the district headquarters, resonated with loud slogans of “Pakistanis go back!” as BJP workers raised concerns about national security and legal violations.
Following the rally, a memorandum was submitted to the Governor through Chamba Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal, urging immediate intervention in the matter.

Senior BJP leaders join protest

Several senior BJP leaders, including Dalhousie MLA DS Thakur, Churah MLA Hans Raj, former Bhattiyat MLA Vikram Singh Jaryal and Chamba district BJP president Dheeraj Naryal, participated in the protest.
The rally highlighted the party’s demand for strict action against illegal stay and alleged negligence by the state authorities.

Press conference held post-rally34

Following the rally, a press conference was addressed by MLAs DS Thakur and Hans Raj.
Both leaders reiterated the BJP’s stance, claiming that the continued presence of Pakistani nationals in Himachal Pradesh posed a risk to the state’s peace and security.


“This is not just a legal issue but a matter of national interest. The state government must act in accordance with central laws and ensure that no foreign national is allowed to stay here without valid documentation,” said DS Thakur.

Hans Raj echoed similar sentiments, warning that any leniency on such sensitive matters could compromise the safety of local citizens. He also accused the ruling Congress government of being “soft” on law enforcement and urged the administration to act swiftly.
