Shimla: Anju Sharma has been appointed as the Engineer-in-Chief of the Jal Shakti Vibhag by the state government, marking her as the first woman to hold this position in the department. Following the retirement of the former Chief Engineer, Sanjeev Kaul, Anju Sharma, who was previously serving as the Chief Engineer in Shimla, has been elevated to this prestigious role. The official notification was released on Saturday by the Chief Secretary.
Anju Sharma has been actively contributing to the department’s initiatives, previously holding the position of Chief Engineer in Shimla for the past two years. Her journey began in the department as an SDO (Sub-Divisional Officer) and later moved up the ranks to become an Executive Engineer and subsequently the Chief Engineer. Her remarkable career trajectory has now led her to the esteemed role of Engineer-in-Chief, making history as the first woman to achieve this milestone in the Jal Shakti Vibhag.
