Offline ticket sales start as Punjab Kings to play first IPL match of season in Dharamshala

Dharamshala: Cricket fans have reason to rejoice as offline ticket sales for the much-awaited IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, scheduled to be held on May 4 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) stadium in Dharamshala began on Wednesday (April 30, 2025).

The ticket counters saw a steady stream of eager fans lining up to secure their seats for the high-energy clash.
The starting price for offline tickets has been set at Rs 1500, offering an affordable option for spectators to enjoy the live action from the stands.
Officials confirmed that ticket sales will continue on Thursday, giving fans another opportunity to purchase tickets directly from the counter.

Dharamshala stadium second home ground after Mohali

With the picturesque Dharamshala stadium set to host its first IPL match of the season, the excitement among local and visiting cricket enthusiasts is palpable.

The Punjab Kings, who consider the Dharamshala venue their second home ground after Mohali, are expected to enjoy strong local support as they take on the Lucknow Super Giants in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

Security arrangements and logistical preparations are already underway to ensure a smooth and safe match-day experience for fans.

Online ticket sales for match started on Monday

Online ticket sales for the match opened on Monday and within 45 minutes, five stands priced at Rs 1,200 and Rs 1,500 were sold out, showing high demand, especially for the more affordable categories.
Last year, the cheapest IPL ticket at the Dharamshala stadium was priced at Rs 1,500, with four stands offering entry at that rate.

This time, the starting price has dropped to Rs 1,200, but only one stand (West Stand-3) is available at that price.
Despite limited availability, it sold out within just 30 minutes of opening. Other ticket slabs currently available online are Rs 1,500, Rs 3,500 and Rs 6,000.

Punjab Kings’ management has clearly aimed at making matches more accessible to fans, particularly after feedback on last year’s higher ticket rates. However, fans will still have to pay additional GST and ticketing charges at checkout.
