Manali: A Nepali-origin woman has been missing from Manali in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district for the past 23 days, leaving her husband, Chakra Bahadur, in distress. Since January 28, he has been searching for his wife but has found no clue about her whereabouts.
Bahadur stated that his wife had left for Nepal to meet their children but never reached her destination.
After searching for her among relatives and neighbours for a few days, he lodged a missing complaint at the Manali police station on February 1. However, despite 23 days passing, the police have not been able to trace her.
Husband appeals to SP for assistance
Bahadur, whose two children live in Nepal, has now approached Kullu Superintendent of Police Karthikeyan Gokulchandran, seeking urgent intervention.
He mentioned that his wife, Sunita, left home saying she was going to Nepal. When he tried calling her for three consecutive days, her phone remained switched off.
After failing to get any information from relatives, he reported the matter to the police.
Manali Deputy Superintendent of Police KD Sharma confirmed that a missing person report had been filed, and efforts were underway to trace her. The police were tracking her last phone location to gather leads, he said.
