Himachal Pradesh BJP spokesperson Sanjay Sharma has said that state Congress government was completely in the grip of bureaucracy and political leadership seemed helpless in the system.
“The bureaucrats are discriminating against employees and misleading the government by making separate policies for themselves. Here, the Chief Minister is announcing that he has given 4% DA hike to the employees of the state, while the officers have found a way for themselves and took a lump sum 12% DA from the state government and in addition to this, they have also taken 3% DA from the central government, while the employees of the state are still not sure whether they will get even 4% or not, or this announcement of the Chief Minister will also prove to be false like the election announcements,” said Sanjay Sharma.

He alleged that a separate policy had been made in the state for IAS, IPS, IFS officers of the state, the benefit of which is being availed by selected officers, while the general employees working honestly have been “cheated”.
“The state government should check the officers who are misleading the government and making such policies and want to benefit themselves. A common policy should be made to remove such discrepancies.
On one hand, the government is crying about the financial crisis and on the other hand, the officers are looting the government treasury to benefit themselves,” he said.

Sanjay alleged that this was the same officer class that brought disrepute to the government daily, sometimes in the name of toilet tax and sometimes by advising the government to impose tax on goods carried inside buses and want to put the burden of taxes on the public. “Increasing the price of electricity is also the advice of such officers,” he said.
“The different DA hike policy has been made for the first time in the history of Himachal, which has divided the employee class into two categories, one which is taking 53% DA and the other with 37%. Is there more inflation for those taking 53% and less for the rest,” he questioned.
