Mr. Manoj Jain, Chairman & Managing Director of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), to deliver the Convocation Address
A total of 636 students will receive degrees during the Convocation
MANDI:IIT-MANDI is all set to host its 12th convocation on Saturday (September 28, 2024). The event will be graced by Manoj Jain, Chairman & Managing Director of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), as the chief guest.
Joining him as guests of honour will be Prof Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT-Ropar; Narendra Kumar Arya, Director of ER & IPR at DRDO, and Krishna Ika, CEO & Chairman of Brainwave Science. Lt Gen Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon (Retd.), Chairman of the Board of Governors, IIT-Mandi, will preside over the ceremony.

Manoj Jain began his journey with BEL in 1991 as a probationary Engineer, after earning a gold medal in Electronics Engineering from MNIT-Jaipur. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has made significant contributions to research & development, particularly in the areas of digital multiplexers, military switches, defence networks and radar technologies. He has held several key leadership positions, including General Manager of BEL’s Product Development & Innovation Centre and the Electronic Warfare & Avionics SBU.
Jain’s accomplishments have earned him numerous awards, and he holds multiple patents for his innovative work.

Sharing his thoughts on the upcoming convocation event, Prof Laxmidhar Behera, Director, IIT-Mandi, stated, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our graduating students. This year’s convocation will celebrate the achievements of 636 graduating students, including 297 undergraduates, 284 postgraduates and 55 PhD scholars.
The IIT-Mandi community eagerly looks forward to this significant occasion, which will recognise the dedication and hard work of its students. The 12th convocation promises to be a memorable event, celebrating the academic excellence and innovative spirit of its graduates.
