MANDI: The Himachal Pradesh State Milk Federation has shifted its focus to commercial consumers, introducing larger packaging options in addition to its existing small packs. The new products include 2 kg and 5 kg packing of yogurt and 800 ml packing of lassi, catering specifically to commercial needs for the first time.
Milk Fed Marketing Manager Sandeep Thakur said that the 2 kg yogurt pot is priced at Rs 160 while the 5 kg pot is available for Rs 380. The 800 ml lassi is priced at Rs 30. Previously, Milk Fed’s yogurt was available only in 250 gram and 500 gram packs, suitable for domestic use, leading commercial consumers to avoid these smaller packs.
However, the introduction of larger packaging has garnered significant interest from commercial consumers, including those planning weddings and events. Daily sales of the larger yogurt packs are approximately one to one and a half quintals. Encouraged by positive market feedback, the management is considering offering other products in larger packaging sizes as well.
The larger packs aim to meet the demands of commercial consumers more effectively, marking a significant shift in the federation’s marketing strategy.
