NURPUR POLICE ACTION AGAINST DRUG TRAFFICKING

03 Accused Arrested, 116g Charas and 10.47g Heroin Seized

Continuing its campaign against the illegal drug trade, Nurpur Police carried out two separate operations on October 8, 2026, arresting three accused and seizing 116 grams of charas and 10.47 grams of heroin (chitta). In both cases, one vehicle each was also taken into custody.

Case 1: 116g Charas Seized, One Arrested During patrolling and naka duty near Palin, Jaunta on NH-154, the CIA wing intercepted a vehicle. On search, 116 grams of charas was recovered hidden under the steering cover. Accused: Kaku (33), son of Veeru, resident of Rikhwani, Chamba district. Vehicle seized: HP 81-5184. FIR No. 252/2026 under Section 20 ND&PS Act registered at Nurpur Police Station.

Case 2: 10.47g Heroin Seized, Two Arrested Acting on a tip-off, the CIA wing set up naka outside Kandwal Police Post on NH-154. A white Tata Altroz car was stopped, and 10.47 grams of heroin was found concealed under the driver’s foot mat. Accused:

  1. Rakesh Kumar, son of Amar Singh, resident of Jaunta, Nurpur.
  2. Gaurav Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar, resident of Khajjian, Nurpur. Vehicle seized: HP 28C-3330. FIR No. 255/2026 under Sections 21, 25 & 29 ND&PS Act registered at Nurpur Police Station.

Police Appeal Nurpur Police urges the public to immediately report any information related to drug trafficking. Drugs are a grave social problem, and their eradication requires active cooperation from citizens. The police reaffirm their commitment to continue strict action against those involved in the illegal drug trade.
