An alert for heavy rain has been issued in Himachal Pradesh for the next two days with the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, predicting continued monsoon rain across the state until July 16.
A yellow alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for several regions on July 11 and 12. The state capital Shimla and its surrounding areas are experiencing adverse weather conditions on Wednesday (July 10, 2024). The movement on 28 roads in the state was disrupted until 10 am due to the heavy rains.
Additionally, 19 power transformers and 16 water supply schemes have been affected.
Last night, several areas recorded significant rainfall: Baijnath received 32 mm, Paonta Sahib 18.4 mm, Dhaulakuan 17.5 mm, Palampur 8.8 mm, Nahan 8.3 mm and Dalhousie 8 mm.

The minimum temperatures recorded in various locations are as follows: Shimla 17.5°C, Sundernagar 24°C, Bhuntar 21°C, Dharamshala 21.5°C, Una 24.7°C, Nahan 11.9°C, Palampur 19.5°C, Solan 22.5°C, Manali 16.7°C, Kangra 23°C, Mandi 25.2°C, Bilaspur 26.2°C, Dalhousie 18.7°C, Jubberhatti 22°C, Kufri 16.1°C, Narkanda 14.5°C, Bharmaur: 17°C, Dhaulakuan 24°C, Barthi 25.2°C, Samdo 17.1°C, Paonta Sahib 24°C, Sarahan 19.5°C, Dehra Gopipur 27°C and Bajaura 22.1°C.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in the districts of Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Kangra, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur on July 11 and 12.
There is no alert for Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur districts. The weather authorities and the local administration have asked the residents and tourists to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather forecast to ensure safety.
