MANDI: The Rotary Club of Chhoti Kashi-Mandi celebrated the installation of its new president, Professor Anupama Singh, in a ceremony held at a local hotel on Monday (July 8, 2024) evening. Alongside her, Raminder Kaur was appointed as the club secretary for the 2024-25 term.
District Governor-Elect for 2025-26 Rohit Oberoi served as the chief guest and installation officer, with Assistant Governor Ram Pal Gupta as the guest of honour. Special guests included Rtn Praveen Aggarwal, Rtn Tilak Nayak and Dharmender Rana. The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the pinning of the new office bearers and the administration of the oath to President Anupama Singh and her team by the chief guest.
In her inaugural address, Professor Anupama Singh emphasised her commitment to social welfare, health, education and environmental initiatives. She expressed her gratitude to the members for electing her as president and highlighted her dedication to advancing educational projects. She called for the cooperation of all members to elevate the club’s efforts and impact across various societal sectors.
“The theme for this year is ‘Magic of Rotary’, signifying our goal to create transformative impacts over the next twelve months. Our activities will honour ‘The Legends of Our Time’ and engage young professionals in meaningful initiatives,” said Singh. She also underscored the importance of utilising the online tool ‘Club Central’ to monitor and showcase their goals, urging all Rotarians to stay connected through ‘My Rotary.’
Rohit Oberoi congratulated immediate past president Munish Sood and the Rotarians for their exemplary work since the club’s establishment two years ago under Sood’s leadership. He lauded the club’s achievements and expressed confidence in Professor Singh’s ability to elevate the club to new heights.
The installation ceremony was attended by presidents and secretaries from neighbouring Rotary Clubs, including Rotary Club of Sundernagar, Rotary Club of Suket, Rotary Club of Mandi and Rotary Club of Nerchowk.
Members present during the event included Akhilesh Bharti, Suresh Gupta, Shubham Gupta, Renu Gulati, Brinda Sharma, Prakash Sharma, Hem Lata, Anuradha Sood, Jaspal Singh, Raja Singh Malhotra, Mallika Namdhari, Nitish Sharma, Vishal Verma and Seema Sharma.
