The Newz Radar’s Munish Sood Among Top Honorees in Mandi

The Hridayvasi Seva Samiti, a prominent social organization in Mandi, honored ten distinguished individuals for their exceptional contributions to society during a grand ceremony celebrating the birth anniversary of Shri Sathya Sai Baba. Recognized for his impactful and fearless journalism, *Munish Sood* of The Newz Radar was among the honorees. Known for asking tough questions to those in power with a composed demeanor and a smile, Munish’s recent investigative report on water sports activities in Gobind Sagar Lake—exposing cruise operations without proper registration—has gained significant public and government attention.

The prestigious Hridayvasi Seva Samman was also awarded to:
– Pandit Yogesh Sharma and Pandit Pankaj Sharma, spiritual storytellers,
– Brigadier Khushal Thakur, Kargil war hero,
– Harmeet Singh Bittu, social worker,
– Dr. Parikshit Malhotra, leading surgeon at Ner Chowk Medical College,
– Writers Murari Sharma and Satyam Mahesh Sharma,
– Tara Boti, an expert in Mandiyali cuisine,
– Vinod Behl, Mandiyali literature advocate.

The event, hosted at Hriday Mandir in Paddal, saw the presence of dignitaries, including *Swami Soham Muni Udaseen, **Mayor Virendra Bhatt, and **INTACH Convenor Naresh Malhotra*, who lauded the achievements of the honorees.

Celebrating Service and Inspiring the Youth

The ceremony paid homage to senior members Leela, Anjana Malhotra, and Dharma, all over 90, for their lifelong dedication to the organization’s mission. Youth contributors Shivansh and Devansh were also awarded medals, encouraging their continued engagement in community initiatives.

Gold medals were presented to Kamal Vaidya, Yukteshwar Bisht, Lekhu Bhai, and Nakul for their commendable service within the Samiti.

Literary and Cultural Milestones

A literary highlight of the event was the launch of “Choti Kashi Ke Dev Utsav” by acclaimed author Satyam Mahesh Sharma, showcasing Mandi’s cultural legacy.

 

Social Contributions

Treasurer Kamal Vaidya shared that the Samiti provided meals to 4.12 lakh individuals at Mandi Zonal Hospital in the past year, spending ₹48 lakh. Secretary Shanta detailed the organization’s activities, emphasizing its commitment to societal welfare.

Supported by organizations like Namdhari Sangat, Rotary Club, and Shri Sathya Sai Seva Samiti, the event highlighted collective efforts to serve the community.

The recognition of Munish Sood and other luminaries underscored the importance of dedication and resilience in fostering societal progress, inspiring all attendees to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
