Spring Dale Convent Sr Sec School-Jawali students to represent India at Asia Cup Taekwondo Championship in Nepal

It’s a moment of immense pride for Himachal Pradesh as six students from Spring Dale Convent Senior Secondary School-Jawali in Kangra district are all set to represent India at the 8th Asia Cup Open International Taekwondo Championship, to be held at Pokhara in Nepal from June 27 to 29, 2025.


The prestigious international event will witness participation from athletes across several Asian nations, including India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Thailand, Maldives, Tibet, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. The championship provides a global platform for young taekwondo practitioners to showcase their talent and sportsmanship.


Representing India from the Jawali region of Kangra district, the selected students — Aditya, Manvi Thakur, Priyanshi, Samaira, Maurya Kashyap and Krish Kaundal — will compete with determination and enthusiasm under the guidance of team manager Anjana Katoch, head coach Prakash Parihar and sports coach Rakesh Kumar.


Speaking on this remarkable achievement, Dr Rajeev Singh Niryal, Principal of Spring Dale School, expressed great pride. “It is a significant accomplishment not just for our school or the town of Jawali, but for the entire state of Himachal Pradesh. These young athletes will carry the Indian flag high on an international stage, and we are all immensely proud.”


The news has sparked celebrations among the students’ families, with parents expressing overwhelming joy and pride in their children’s achievement. They see it as a testimony to their hard work, discipline, and passion for the sport.


Chairman Dr Rajendra Singh, Managing Director Pawan Chaudhary and other members of the school committee extended heartfelt congratulations to the participating students and the school’s faculty. They emphasised that achievements like these contribute not only to the school’s growing reputation but also to the overall development of students in academics and sports.
