In a powerful move to steer the youth away from drug abuse, the Dhauladhar Cricket League officially kicked off this Thursday at the ITI Shahpur Ground.
The tournament, themed as a crusade against the synthetic drug ‘Chitta,’ was inaugurated by the Deputy Chief Whip of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Shahpur MLA, Kewal Singh Pathania.
“Sweat on the Field, Not in Shadows”
Inaugurating the league, MLA Pathania delivered a stirring call to action for the younger generation. He emphasized that physical grit is the only antidote to the rising drug epidemic.

“If you wake up early and shed sweat on the sports field, you won’t just become great athletes, you will have the mental discipline to become IAS officers,” Pathania remarked.
He lauded the organizers for using cricket as a platform to fight the ‘Chitta’ menace, urging that such sporting events should be held consistently to keep the youth engaged and healthy.
