On Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its 5th list of candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Some notable figures like VK Singh, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, and Varun Gandhi were not included in the list. Instead, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut will be running from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, and actor Arun Govil, known for his role in Ramayan, will be contesting from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.

The Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government in Himachal Pradesh faces instability as six rebel MLAs from the party, along with three independent legislators, switched allegiance to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday.

He welcomed Congress defectors to the BJP, planning grand receptions for them.
