Tourism minister Gajendra Shekhawat replies to question raised by Kangra MP Rajiv Bharadwaj in Parliament

Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat informed Dr Rajiv Bharadwaj, the Lok Sabha member from Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, that Mata Chintpurni Temple in Una district has been selected under the PRASHAD scheme of the Government of India for the development of religious tourism. This initiative aims to provide better infrastructural facilities to pilgrims visiting the site on a priority basis over the long term.
Shekhawat also mentioned that the state government has not yet submitted a detailed project report to the Ministry of Tourism for the complete development of this religious site. Under the PRASHAD scheme, the central government provides financial assistance to state governments and UTs to develop modern facilities at important religious and archaeological sites, thereby maximising the potential of religious tourism.
Union Minister for Cooperation Amit Shah, responding to a question from Dr Rajiv Bharadwaj, stated that no proposal from any cooperative society in Himachal Pradesh had been received under the Youth Cooperative Scheme. He explained that the scheme provides loans to young entrepreneurs in cooperative societies that have been operational for three months, with a subsidy of up to 2% on these loans provided by the National Cooperative Development Corporation. The loan amount is approved based on project basis.
