He has reported from key locations including Delhi, Jalandhar, Shimla, and Dharamshala. A significant milestone in his career was being among the first Hindi journalists in India to interview His Holiness the Dalai Lama—twice—a rare and prestigious achievement.

With deep knowledge and a research-driven approach, Sunil has conducted extensive work on Tibetan culture and the diplomacy of the Tibetan government-in-exile, making him one of the leading journalistic voices on the subject in India.
