The 74th Foundation Day of Himachal Mitra Mandal in Mumbai showcased the vibrant colors of Himachali culture. Dharamshala MLA and senior BJP leader Sudhir Sharma attended the event as a special guest, where organizers honored him for his contributions to Himachal and its people. A large gathering of Himachalis described the celebration as a strong opportunity to reconnect with their roots.
The highlight of the evening was a spirited performance by “Himachali Nati King” Kuldeep Sharma, who presented a series of popular folk dances that filled the atmosphere with enthusiasm. The audience responded with thunderous applause, experiencing the warmth and flavor of their mountain heritage.
In his address, Sudhir Sharma said the simplicity, energy, and warmth of Himachali culture unite communities across the world and keep their identity alive everywhere. He emphasized that Himachali youth are carving new identities on national and global platforms—from the film industry to major industries and leadership positions in top corporate companies—through hard work, humility, and talent. He added that honesty, cooperation, and values inherent in Himachali character distinguish them in every field.
Sharma praised the role of Himachal Mitra Mandal in keeping Himachali unity and culture alive in a metropolis like Mumbai. Mandal president Manoj Awasthi said the organization’s aim is to connect Himachalis living in Mumbai on a common platform and pass on their cultural heritage to the younger generation. He noted that foundation day celebrations are not only cultural festivals but also strong examples of cooperation, identity, and solidarity among Himachalis.
The event concluded with Sudhir Sharma extending best wishes to all Himachalis present and expressing hope for their bright future.
