Dharamshala– On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Yuvah Himachal launched a heartwarming social initiative under its “Vastram 2.0” campaign, bringing light and warmth to underprivileged families in Dharamshala. The team distributed warm clothes, eco-friendly diyas, gift hampers, colors, and sustainable candles to those in need, blending festive cheer with environmental consciousness.
The event was held in the slum area near Pasu Gas Agency, Dharamshala (Kangra district), and was led by Yuvah Himachal co-founder and NSS President Award recipient Lalit Kumar Dogra. Addressing the youth, Dogra emphasized, “We cannot wait for someone else to lead us toward change. True transformation begins when we step forward ourselves. Diwali finds its real meaning when our efforts bring light into someone’s life.”
Key contributors included Moti Lal (State Joint Secretary, Yuvah Himachal), Samiksha Sharma (District President, Yuvah Kangra), Kamlesh Kumari (District Vice President), and Keshav (Office Secretary), who played active roles in organizing and executing the campaign.
Special guest and advisor Mr. Sajan, a teacher at Sri Sathya Sai Educare Vidya Pratishthan, Slategodam, praised the initiative, stating, “Such efforts ignite humanity, compassion, and youth consciousness in society.”
The event saw enthusiastic participation from state and district team members including Rahul, Pradyumn, Neha, Kartik, Gaurav, Anshika, Ritika, Nidhi, Tushar, Nikita, Mehak, and many others. Together, they helped spread love, belonging, and the spirit of service among the community.
More than just a clothing drive, “Vastram 2.0” became a symbol of empathy, leadership, and social responsibility. Yuvah Himachal believes that “Change doesn’t come from others—it begins within us.”
This Diwali, the campaign reminded everyone that the truest celebration lies in illuminating lives with joy and hope.
