Mandi
In a rising wave of dissent against the state’s contentious Job Trainee Policy, the Himachal Unemployed Youth Federation (HUYF) submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, registering strong opposition to the policy that they claim deepens the crisis of educated unemployment.
The memorandum—delivered through the Additional Commissioner to the Deputy Commissioner of Mandi—was spearheaded by District President Vishal Mandotra. He described the policy as a “systemic failure,” accusing it of worsening mental distress among educated youth.
“Policies like these don’t empower youth — they break them mentally after years of hard work and dedication in education,” Mandotra stated.
Supporting the growing protest, HUYF’s State Convenor Shrey Awasthi issued a direct warning to the government.
“If the state government fails to withdraw this exploitative policy, we will ignite a massive youth movement across every district of Himachal — and Mandi will be the epicentre of this awakening.”
Condemning the policy as a betrayal of youth aspirations, the Federation declared that today’s generation seeks dignity—not charity.
The call is loud and clear: withdraw the policy, or prepare for a youth-led storm across Himachal.
