Shimla-born baker Shivani Singh Deo among two young women entrepreneurs behind initiative
Chandigarh: In the run-up to International Women’s Day on March 8, women-centric WOW (Women of Wonder) Club organised a grand felicitation ceremony in Chandigarh on Sunday to honour women achievers across various fields.
The event, held at JW Marriott Hotel, was graced by Punjab Director General of Police Gurpreet Kaur Deo as the chief guest.
A total of 16 distinguished women were felicitated, including Omkareshwari Pal Kutlehar, Saguna Jain, Shayda Bano, Dr Tanya Mishra and Dr Roopum Kaur, in recognition of their outstanding contributions in their respective domains.

WOW Club is the brainchild of two women entrepreneurs from Chandigarh, Shivani Singh Deo and Ruchii Mahapatra.
Having her roots in Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla, Shivani is into baking business and runs her own studio ‘Bake4Me’ in Sector 35, Chandigarh. She has received several awards for her successful venture, which she started after giving up her job as a techie.
Ruchii works as a social media influencer, is into event management and has her own clothing brand ‘Mama Mia’ for newborn children.
Addressing the gathering, Gurpreet Kaur Deo, one of Punjab’s first women IPS officers to attain the rank of DGP, lauded Shivani and Ruchii for creating such a platform to empower women achievers. “Women must embrace their true selves and not succumb to societal pressures.
The WOW initiative serves as an excellent platform for women to interact, grow and find solutions to the challenges they face,” said the DGP.
Shivani said their aim behind starting WOW Club was to create a supportive and empowering space where women could connect, share their experiences and grow together.
Ruchii said the club would foster personal and professional development, provide networking opportunities and encourage mentorship.
