Shimla:
Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh has been honoured at the British Parliament’s House of Lords by the World Book of Records, London, in a moment he described as both proud and deeply emotional for Himachal Pradesh.

Vikramaditya Singh received a Certificate of Excellence from Lord Rami Ranger, a member of the House of Lords. Calling the recognition more than a personal achievement, he said it symbolised how a son of Himachal Pradesh could take the state’s name to a global stage.

“This honour is a tribute to the sacred soil of Himachal Pradesh and the faith reposed in me by its people,” Vikramaditya Singh said in a statement after the ceremony. He dedicated the award to the people of Shimla-Rural constituency, party workers, supporters and his teachers and mentors who, he said, guided him at every step.

Emphasising his commitment to public service, Vikramaditya Singh said the recognition would further motivate him to work with greater integrity, transparency and dedication. “My resolve is to keep working tirelessly for Himachal’s development, its youth, its cultural identity and the aspirations of every common Himachali,” he said.

Terming the honour as belonging to every citizen of the hill state, Vikramaditya Singh said representing Himachal on an international platform was the greatest pride of his public life.
